Presentation Description / Summary: Bisphosphonates are drugs that inhibit osteoclastic activity and thereby bone resorption. They are used in both neoplastic and non-neoplastic diseases in a variety of animal species. We will discuss bisphosphonate use in dogs and cats and emphasize their importance for osteolytic bone pain and hypercalcemia of malignancy.

2. List disease processes where bisphosphonates are indicated
3. Learn adverse event profile and monitoring necessary for veterinary patients receiving bisphosphonates
