Graduated from the UNAM University of Mexico. Completed two residencies at UCD and got diplomate status by the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine in two specialties: Large Animal Internal Medicine equine emphasis, and Neurology and Neurosurgery. Completed a PhD in comparative pathology in neuromuscular disorders at UCD. Currently: Professor and Chief of Service in Equine Internal Medicine, co-director of the Neuromuscular Disease Laboratory and Clinical Neurophysiology Laboratory at UCD. Recipient of the Terry Holliday Equine and Comparative Neurology Endowed Presidential Chair.
