Dr. Philip Johnson graduated from the University of Bristol in 1981. Following graduation, he entered equine veterinary practice in the southwest part of England (Bristol, Bath area). Dr. Johnson undertook equine specialty training (equine medicine and surgery) at the University of Illinois (1984-1987), attaining the MS degree in Veterinary Clinical Medicine, and becoming a board-certified specialist in the discipline of internal medicine (ACVIM, ECEIM). Dr. Johnson is currently a Professor of Equine Internal Medicine at the University of Missouri and the Instructional Leader in that department. In 2022, he was awarded the Lifetime Achievement Award by the ACVIM-LAIM.
