Iowa State University CVM
Ames, Iowa, United States
Dr. Brandon Mason was born in Michigan, briefly raised in the US Virgin Islands, and then spent the rest of his childhood in the metro-Atlanta area. He attended Auburn University and obtained an undergraduate degree in Zoology in 2013. That propelled him to Tuskegee University where he earned his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree in 2017. Shortly after graduation from veterinary school, Dr. Mason was accepted into the internship program at VCA Alameda East Veterinary Hospital in Denver, CO where he practiced for one year under the guidance and supervision of a seasoned group of specialists and general practitioners. Upon completion of his internship, Dr. Mason and his wife settled in the area, and he worked as a general practitioner through VCA until being accepted to the ISU Small Animal Internal Medicine Residency Program.
Dr. Mason was drawn to internal medicine during his internship. His veterinary interests include infectious disease, gastrointestinal disease, and endoscopy.
Dr. Mason and his wife are kept busy at home with their two dogs, Zip and Tulip, and one cat, Kiki. The Mason family enjoys the outdoors and will often be found exploring hiking trails in the warmer months and on the slopes during snowboarding season. They also enjoy traveling the world when possible.
