Jessica was raised in rural New Zealand, where she developed her passion for horses and decided to become a veterinarian. After graduating from Massey University in New Zealand, she undertook an internship at Newcastle Equine Centre in New South Wales, Australia before returning to Massey University for her residency in large animal internal medicine. An area of interest for Jessica is the equine gastrointestinal tract, recently having helped publish a review of Equine Gastric Ulcer Syndrome (EGUS), as well as contributing to research on the topic. Outside of work, Jessica cares for her geriatric Jack Russell Terrier and enjoys cycling, hockey, swimming and skiing in her spare time.
