I earned my DVM from Auburn Univeristy in 1977 and was in practice for 3 years before beginning my small animal surgery residency. I completed my residency and Masters Degree at Purdue University CVM. I next completed a PhD and Neurosurgery/Neurology residency at Auburn University CVM. The remainder of my career consisted of acquiring my board certification (ACVIM-Neurology) and stints as a clinical faculty member at Mississippi State University, Michigan State University, and Auburn University. I also spent 5 years serving as a high-school biology teacher and varsity baseball and softball coach. In 2010, I started a Neurosurgery/Neurology service at Mississipi State and continue in there as a Clinical Professor and Section Chief.
