Emily is a veterinary Cardiology resident at the University of Minnesota Veterinary Medical Center. She earned her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and graduated with the Rock Valley Medical Association award for superior proficiency in clinics. Emily then completed a competitive 1-year rotating internship in small animal medicine and surgery at WestVet Emergency and Specialty Center in Boise Idaho, along with a specialty cardiology internship at BluePearl Veterinary Partners Emergency and Referral Center in Southfield, Michigan. Emily is currently being trained in a wide range of interventional procedures for congenital heart diseases, pacemaker implantation and intrahepatic portosystemic shunt coil occlusion. She has a deep interest in developing and expanding the knowledge base of cardiovascular diseases and finds all areas of cardiology captivating from electrophysiology, echocardiography and breed-specific disease management. Outside of work Emily enjoys running, camping and hiking with her beloved aussiedoodle Maverick.
