Overcoming Unconscious Bias

Presentation Description / Summary: Most decisions are made with good intent. But are our outcomes aligned with that good intent? Unfortunately, unconscious bias can get in the way between our positive intentions and our outcomes. Nobel Prize winner Daniel Kahneman has characterized our brain as being controlled by two systems - one that things fast and one that thinks slow. When we think fast, we can fall into unconscious patterns that can have negative and potentially biased impacts on people and organizations. In this session, we will use research-based insights and multiple interactive activities to learn about how we can overcome the common "traps" of unconscious biases.
