Presentation Description / Summary: Whether the venue is a scientific meeting, continuing education for practitioners in your area, or a talk to a lay group, you want your audience to remember your message and apply it to their life when they leave. This workshop will review how the brain learns new information and demonstrate how you can use the power of Powerpoint to ensure a memorable presentation. Topics include the audience and THEIR objectives, motivation to learn and attention span, stages of memory, and the use of design principles. For the second hour of the workshop, participants should bring their laptops and a presentation they are working on. The can apply what they have learned to their presentation, while other participants and I help them achieve their objectives.
