Presentation Description / Summary: 
A review of key anatomy and electrophysiology of the large animal heart. This session will focus on diagnostics, monitoring, and common cardiac abnormalities in equine and livestock species.We will discuss how to best place ECG leads for an optimum tracing and useful as well as the usefullness and  feasibility of monitoring equipment.  We will discuss common electrophysiological abnormalities, and provide tools for recognizing common ECG abnormalities including those requiring emergency intervention. 

Learner Outcomes: 

Recognize normal ECG findings and normal heart sounds. 

Place different ECG leads and troubleshoot poor quality ECG tracing

Recognize different supraventricular and ventricular arrhythmias, and discuss basic treatment options.
