Presentation Description / Summary: This session will explore the impact of dietary interventions on the mechanisms and manifestations of aging, considering research evidence from lab animal models, humans, and companion animal species. Directions for future research, clinical implications, and popular misconceptions about diet and aging will also be discussed.


Learning Objectives:

  • understand the general mechanisms of aging and how nutritional interventions can impact these
  • consider potential nutritional strategies to extend lifespan and health span in dogs and cats.
