This session will summarize the current knowledge regarding risk factors of pancreatitis and how these risk factors lead to pancreatitis in dogs. Dr. Steiner will review current diagnostics and treatment options for acute canine pancreatitis. He will review updates in treatment including evidence based novel treatments.

  • Be familiar with the various suspected pathogenetic pathways leading to pancreatitis.
  • Be familiar with the various complications of acute pancreatitis in dogs
  • Develop a management plan for a dog with acute pancreatitis, including potential applications of a novel drug therapy
