Presentation Description / Summary: This panel discussion would try to explore various aspects of a career in academia from various vantage points.

Learner Outcomes: Each attendee would have a rational expectation for a career in academia. Each attendee would be able to list advantages and disadvantages for a career in academia.

Learning Objectives:

  • Upon completion, participant will be able to identify the advantages and disadvantages of a career in academia.
  • Upon completion, participant will be able to understand the work/life balance differences between academia and private practice settings.
  • Upon completion, participant will be able to identify individual opportunities for a career in academia.
