Presentation Description / Summary: Long term management of cats with SUBs will covered along with identifying and treating complications such as kinks, luminal mineralization and infection/bacterial colonization.  These concepts will be covered using case-based learning.

Learner Outcomes: Evaluate SUB patients in a structured manner and troubleshoot common complications.  Specifically have the ability to decide when to attempt medical amangement, return to surgery or perform infusion protocols in specific patients.

Learning Objectives:

  • Learn to diagnose common long term complications that arise in cats with SUBs
  • Decide the best therapeutic course for cats with luminal mineralization, kinks (static and postional) and infection/bacterial colonization.
  • Understand how to manage mineralization and infection long term.
