Presentation Description / Summary: This session will cover diseases in goats which are either newly recognized, or old diseases which are gaining importance or growing in understanding of their impact. Also covered will be diseases which may be spreading to new areas of the country.

Learner Outcomes: Recognize common clinical signs of various infectious diseases in goats, best practices in diagnosis, treatment and control. Discuss risk factors and factors involved in the emerging status of these pathogens.

Learning Objectives:

To recognize the clincal presentation of select (re)emerging infectious disease of goats.
To understand the diagnostic options, including limitations, for select (re)emerging infectious disease of goats.
To appreciate the implications for disease tranmission and population level infection, prevention and management of select (re)emerging infectious disease of goats.
