Presentation Description / Summary: To crossmatch or not to crossmatch? A still controversial question! This presentation will discuss best practices in terms of blood compatibility in dogs and cats with an emphasis on crossmatch testing. The advantages and disadvantages of the different crossmatch techniques will be discussed, as well as possible pitfalls. The presentation will be animated by clinical cases, their crossmatch interpretation and resulting clinical decisions...to transfuse or not to transfuse?! Learner Outcomes:
