This lecture will discuss antimicrobial stewardship and its challenges. It will also provide a refresher of common concepts regarding antimicrobial selection and identify ways to improve antimicrobial use. We will then walk through several case examples that illustrate appropriate antimicrobial selection.

  • Recall considerations for antimicrobial selection and mechanisms of antimicrobial resistance.
