Amanda Norman, BS is a second-year veterinary student at Michigan State University’s College of Veterinary Medicine. She has an interest in mixed animal practice, with a surgical focus. Amanda graduated from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington in 2018 with a Bachelor of Science in biology and worked as a veterinary technician for three years until her acceptance into MSU CVM in 2021. She worked in the laboratories of Dr. Manfredi and Dr. Agnew as part of the MSU-CVM Summer Veterinary Research Program (2022) sponsored by a NIH T35 grant. Her research focused on investigating histological changes of the equine placenta in the presence of insulin dysregulation as part of a larger project to investigate foal medical and orthopedic outcomes when born from mares with metabolic syndrome.
