Congratulations to Keri Levinson, DVM, CVA, on her amazing achievement of becoming a Certified Veterinary Acupuncturist (CVA)! Dr. Levinson, who works in our Frederick location, started her CVA journey many years ago in veterinary school, inspired by the care of one of her family pets. Her accreditation was received through Chi University, and she is registered as a CVA with the China Society of Traditional Veterinary Medicine and the World Association of Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medicine. Veterinary acupuncture can be used to treat and support a wide variety of medical problems from acute to chronic conditions, such as pain, osteoarthritis, chronic cough/respiratory conditions, and gastrointestinal, immunologic, and neurologic conditions (paresis/paralysis) as a result of acute injury, general aging, or chronic disease. “Veterinary acupuncture is often best used as a complementary therapy to Western Veterinary Medicine by incorporating Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medicine practices through a holistic approach. I hope to be able to use acupuncture to help heal and support our hospitalized patients and serve our community to provide a holistic approach to treat the total well-being of the animal throughout their happy life.” Call if you need us … we can help! Did you know that our colleagues within the veterinary industry are at quadruple the risk of succumbing to suicide compared to the general population? The impact of suicide within the veterinary community is heartbreakingly widespread; scarcely any among us remain untouched. Partners’ Mission is to build a safe and healthy workplace for our teams. In addition, our core value of “Community Care” is our call to action for us to be present and support the entire veterinary profession. We want every veterinary professional to also benefit from a supportive network and resources. Because of this, we are committed to supporting and are participating in their Race Around the World 2024—a virtual race that takes place May 1st – 31st. Our team—FEARLESS TRAILBLAZERS—will track the miles/kilometers they run, walk, or bike throughout the month, raising money to help NOMV transform mental wellness status within the profession. We hope that through our support, every veterinary professional can access a robust support system and resources to help avert further tragedies. We stand with Not One More Vet. Will you join us? Guided by our ever-present motto, "We Can Help," it's ingrained in the very essence of who we are. When the Goochland County Animal Shelter—an organization close to the heart of one of our dedicated emergency veterinarians—needed a portable ultrasound, we didn't hesitate to act. We immediately reached out to our long-standing collaborator, Randy Laufersky, at Core Imaging, to explore potential solutions. Here's the inspiring story of what happened next, all sparked by a single conversation. Thank you, Randy and Core Imaging. A note from the shelter: A HUGE thank you goes out to Partner Veterinary Emergency & Specialty Center Richmond for donating a mobile ultrasound unit to the Goochland County Animal Shelter and Adoption Center! With this tool, the shelter vets can perform diagnostic checks that they otherwise would have had to seek outside care for. The ultrasound allows them to do pregnancy checks, monitor fetal health, collect urine samples, and assess pets for internal injuries or abnormalities. We are so grateful to Partner for this donation that will raise the standard of care for pets at the shelter! #wecanhelp #rvapets #makethecall #partnervesc #teamsfirst

We are pleased to announce the promotion of Kristina Brown to Inventory Guru! Kristina started with Partner’s Urgent Care in 2022 and moved with the team to the new hospital we’re in today. Her role as Inventory Guru will be to streamline the hospital’s inventory and supply needs so that our team has everything they need to provide gold-standard medicine to our patients. Fun Fact: Kristina hopes to one day have a mountain retreat that caters to reactive dogs—giving them and their families a quiet, comfortable, and safe place to enjoy outdoor activities. We are excited to have her positive attitude and keen organizational skills in this role. Congratulations, Kristina! #partnerveterinaryrichmond #RVA #wecanhelp

Today we recognize National Lost Dog Awareness Day—a day started by —an all-volunteer group that originated in 2011 to help reunite lost dogs with their owners. In honor of the day, our most recent blog article shares the group’s Top 4 ways to increase the reach of your lost pet’s social media post—an effective way to get the word out, if used properly. https://lnkd.in/epzveFY6 #partnerveterinaryfrederick #frederickMD #partnerveterinaryrichmond #RVA #wecanhelp #notallstraydogsarehomeless #lostdogsofamerica
