Mountain West Veterinary Specialists is currently looking for board-certified or residency trained individuals in Internal Medicine, Oncology, Cardiology, Ophthalmology, and Neurology to join our team. We are an independent and locally owned specialty and emergency hospital that is rapidly expanding. With a location just 20 minutes north of Salt Lake City and a second location scheduled to open late summer of this year in the South end of the Salt Lake valley, you do not want to miss out on the opportunity to be a part of our team. If you love access to specialty services, MWVS currently offers services in critical care, exotics, internal medicine, surgery, and 24 hours emergency care at with additional specialists being added to both locations over the next couple months. Our team consists of board certified specialists, an amazing group of emergency veterinarians, dedicated technicians, and client care coordinators. Our South location, schedules to open fall 2024, is a 30,000 square foot, custom built facility with 4 surgery suites, multiple imaging options, laboratory diagnostic machines, and so much more. Option for special equipment to be purchased based on request. Managing and taking care of your own mental health can be a struggle for many people, luckily our pets are there to help comfort and support us through difficult times. There are so many benefits to owning a pet, but one of the biggest benefits is the boost to our mental health that they give. Whether it is quiet snuggling on the couch with your cat, playing with your bird, taking your dog for a walk, or just about any other interaction you have with your pet, our pets provide us with that little extra help that we all can use sometimes. This week is Dog Bite Prevention Week. Unfortunately even the most well behaved dog can bite under certain circumstances. This does NOT mean that the dog is a bad dog though, many times these bites are preventable and are only occurring as a last resort for the dog. It is important to teach children, and adults who have had limited interaction, the appropriate way to interact with a dog.
