A clinical exam alone is insufficiently accurate to differentiate cellulitis from abscess in many cases. On soft tissue ultrasound, cellulitis has a characteristic cobblestone appearance. Abscess, by contrast, is associated with a typical ultrasound appearance of discrete fluid collections. Tag us in your scans with Soft Tissue present. #pocus #ultrasound

If you're a trained healthcare provider with POCUS, you can bring the power of Butterfly's iQ+ and iQ3 wherever you go. Ron Samet, MD, is a busy trauma and regional anesthesiologist with close to 20 years of ultrasound experience. On a transatlantic flight he'd packed his iQ3 in his carry-on luggage. At 30,000 feet, he was able to assess a patient, who'd collapsed mid-flight, with his iQ3, and consult with the patient's cardiologist and the airline's ground medical crew to deliver the care the patient required, even in the most unlikely of locations. Butterfly's iQ+ and iQ3 are revolutionary in their ability to support quick diagnostic decisions when time isn't on your side and traditional medical resources aren't available. Whether in the hospital or at 30,000 feet, Dr. Samet had this to say about his iQ3: "One of the greatest advances in the last two decades has been the application of high resolution ultrasound diagnostics and ultrasound guidance in perioperative anesthesia care. Comparing the newly designed iQ3 to its predecessors, I found the iQ3 to boast a smaller and lighter probe design making it easier to hold and handle, a smaller footprint to allow for scanning in difficult anatomical windows, and faster processing with much improved imaging and greater resolution of structures, both superficial and deep." What extraordinary places have you taken a Butterfly? iQ3 provided by Butterfly.

What are some of the top reasons why we use POCUS? In our recent POCUS Power Hour: Obstetrics and Gynecology Special, we talked with medical professionals about how the accessibility and handheld nature of point-of-care ultrasound can be crucial in emergency situations for pregnant women, particular when they've gone through a trauma. Cecilia Leggett, MD, an MFM Fellow in the Division of Maternal-Fetal Medicine and Obstetrics, Department of Obstetrics & Gynecology at Stanford University School of Medicine, shared more specifically about the two instances where it makes a difference in their workflow for deciding whether or not to operate. There are long-term care benefits to POCUS too, like treating women who are carrying high-risk pregnancies. Share below what you feel is the most impactful part about point-of-care ultrasound when it comes to OB/GYN! #pocus #fetalmedicine #maternalhealth #ultrasound
