After studying veterinary medicine at Chonbuk National University in South Korea, Prof. An went on to graduate school at Seoul National University to major in veterinary internal medicine. While working as the chief of veterinary internal medicine at Seoul National University Animal Teaching Hospital, Prof. An conducted numerous studies to develop pioneering veterinary treatments. In particular, she conducted research on stem cells, stem cell-derived extracellular vesicles, anti-cancer therapies, 3D culture for drug testing, and biomarkers related to treatment and prognosis. Currently, Prof. An is working as an assistant professor in the Department of Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care Medicine at Kangwon National University in the South Korea, and is conducting numerous studies to develop treatments for intractable companion animal diseases.
